Giuliano Censini was born in Sinalunga (SIENA, Italy) in 1951 and he currently lives and works in Torrita di Siena. He graduated from the Art Institute “Piero della Francesca” in Arezzo.

From 1975 to 1977, under the supervision of Remo Brindisi, he took courses in drawing and painting at the Academy of Fine Arts in Macerata. He was mainly a teacher of Drawing and Design at the goldsmith’s Art Institutes of Macerata, at the Art Institute of Pistoia, and for over thirty years, at the Art Institute “Piero della Francesca” in Arezzo.

Since the 1970s he has been involved in Italian Art exhibitions, both personal and collective; he has participated in more than 450 painting competitions, achieving significant prizes and awards such as the Medals from the John Paul II’s Pontificate, from the President of the Italian Chamber of Deputies and from the President of the Italian Senate.

From an initial figurative matrix, for the last twenty-five years, he has switched in favor of a more informal artistic material style. The 1980s/1990s are characterized by several educational exchanges and stays in the major European cities which allowed him to study the great masters of the past and the present.

Since the 1980s, he has worked with important companies for the design of goldsmiths’ manufactured products on a large scale which are exported all over the world. His works are exhibited in public and private collections both in Italy and abroad. Critics and art historians have spoken of him, and his work has been written about in newspapers and specialized art magazines.
